Product Safety & Quality

We take no short cuts on quality, using the best raw materials available and applying rigorous quality controls throughout the production process in order to provide safe, top quality products.

The safety and quality of our products constitute a non-negotiable principle for us all, the cornerstone of our existence and expansion, hence our decision to implement the following standards: 

  • ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management Standard
We implement this preventive standard in order to ensure the hygiene and safety of all food we produce and distribute, striving to eliminate or minimize any potential risk for the consumer’s health.

  • ΑΙΒ Standards (American Institute of Baking)
Our company has adopted the AIB’s standards on product hygiene and safety. Unannounced inspections of all our facilities are conducted twice yearly by the AIB in order to ensure our compliance with and enforcement of these standards, as a result of which our operations are constantly improving.

  • IFS Food (International Featured Standard)
Chipita further ensures the top quality of its products by implementing the IFS Food Standard.

The quality of our products is assessed on an on-going basis. Besides the production, packaging, storage and distribution areas, products are also taken for assessment from randomly selected sales outlets to ensure that we have a full overview of their quality.

  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
Chipita has an International standard defining the requirements for effective control of food safety. 


We implement all the aforementioned standards and assess their conformance and effectiveness on a constant basis. Our aim is to continuously improve our products so that they can be enjoyed by everyone throughout their day.
